First Prostap done

Thought I was having Zoladex injection today but ended up with Prostap.

Is there much of a difference between the two?

I have my add back hrt at the ready. My doctor told me some women like to wait before taking it to see if their menopausal symptoms at bad.

Has anyone else waited to take the hrt?

Has anyone started hrt as soon as they has their injection?

Experience from both sides would be handy.

Anything else I need to be prepared for?

Hi Kimbarl, prostap and zoladex basically do the same thing. I was given zoladex the first month by my GP, but then the practice nurse changed it to prostap from the second month - she told me the prostap is usually a bit better tolerated as it's a bit 'nicer' to have as it's just a normal injection as opposed to an implant.

I started the hrt immediately as I was advised to by the endometriosis specialist nurse at my bsge centre. I had some night sweats about 3 weeks in, but that didn't last so I definitely think the hrt has helped in that respect.

I didn’t start the hrt yesterday as after I read the leaflet I was a bit worried about the chances of cancer.

I will probably start it tonight though with the rest of my meds. Xx
