Hey I was on it for a week and stopped as it puts you through temporary menopause. I was 18 at the time and was getting hot flushes etc. Xx

Thank you. My gyne never mentioned this. I have been on prostap before and she didn't say it's like this. Two minds now on what to do as prostap thus time round did not suit me.

Been on it for a while because I was excessively bleeding all of the time with no break. It has mainly stopped the bleeding although I do get breakthrough bleeding sometimes-perhaps due to the amount I was bleeding before.

Hi there, thanks for your reply. Did it give you menopausal sympoms? And how long have you been on it for please and do you take it without breaks?

I started taking it in October for six weeks initially - my GP wanted to see if I had the prolonged bleeding if I took a single course. When I finished the 6 weeks, I had a break for about 5 weeks and still had the continued bleeding. Since Christmas, I've had it on repeat but have taken a small break in between courses. Each time I've still had the continuous bleeding. I don't get any menopausal symptoms apart from a little vaginal dryness and sometimes being a little over emotional . I've also found my other symptoms like pelvic pain and groin pain feel more comfortable when on this rather than when I'm not

Thank you, I have dysfunctional bleeding too. Had 3 prostap injections but side effects I could no longer handle.then went on combi pill but got migraines and currently on cerazette but I'm getting more pelvic pain in my ovaries uterus tubes and bladder on top of my chronic pelvic pain from chronic PID. Also spotting . Doc wants to try me on provera for 3 months I just hope I dont get more pain flare. I have been looking I to natural progestero e but doc poo poo'd it as says it doesnt absorb and it's not regulated in the uk. I jyst wish my body would function properly without pills. I'm trying to improve my diet and lifestyle but it's tough. I really appreciate yoyfcrespinse. Perhaps we could keep in touch and see how we go x

I don't have a diagnosis of anything yet - I'm waiting for my Gynaecologist appointment. I was previously on Cerazette for a long time but the bleeding was just getting worse as was the pain. I've noticed my bladder and bowel symptoms increasingly worsening / I hate not being able to function without tablets too but know I couldn't function without them. X

Hi there, did your bladder and bowel symptoms get worse on cerazette or provera? x

It would be since I’ve taken the Provera. X

Thank you. Im in two minds to take provera or stick with the devil I know with cerazette. I have continuing ovary pain and general pelvic pain is heightened on the cerazette. After my doc appointment yesterday im thinking the provera is a band aid. She only wants me on it for 3 months then try combi pill but not keen on this as I get migraines or go vack on cerazette. Other option was prostap but not keen on that either as had bad side effects at start of this year when I took it. I just dont know x😞

You’re not supposed to have combined contraceptive at all if you have migraines as it increases your risk of thrombosis. I only see the Provera as a stop gap because I know what will happen if I stop taking it. X

I got ocular migraines with the combi pill and she said about putting me on a more natural form of combi pill, but would thus be any different? Would you get uncontrollable bleeding if you stopped the provera, is that what you mean? x

As far as I know it’s migraines of any kind. I’m not sure what the more ‘natural’ version of a coc would be? And yes, uncontrolled bleeding if I came off Provera. X

Hey 😊 I’ve had provera on and off for a few years. Now on the prostap, I never got any side effects from the provera though! Hope you find something that works for you! Have you discussed the merena coil? X

Boodie in reply toStefk16

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I can't have the coil due to high risk of infection from chronic PID x

HI, I was on Provera for a couple of weeks but had a lot of side effects so had to come off it, but everyone reacts differently to different pills. Fingers crossed it works for you :)

Heya, I had horrendous back pain and pain in my lower abdomen as if I had been continuously kicked in the back/nausea and headaches. It just wasn't the right pill for me. hopefully you will get on with it better. x

I had lots of headaches and violent moods swings on provera, was on it 4 weeks and stopped because I felt like I was going crazy! Helped with bleeding and pain but wasnt worth it!
