Blood after...

Hi,

I have a suspected endometriosis - after years of symptoms I’m having an MRI scan end of this month and possibly a lap later on.

For the last few months I have occasionally noticed blood after intercourse, however a couple of days ago there was much more blood than usual. I know this could be one of endo’s symptoms but I have to say I’m really worried :(

Does anyone experience this too?

Do you mean the infection? I had some tests in January and all came negative but I just had a smear test and waiting for the results...

Yeah, I used to bleed after intercourse. Whereas now I have pain but I don't bleed

Sorry to hear that :( Is it always painful? For me only certain positions are (sorry for tmi!).

I really can’t wait for the MRI scan so I can finally know for sure whether it’s endo or anything else!

It's mainly painful afterwards, I get cramps and stabbing pains in my lower pelvis. Although some positions are painful during aswel

I used to have severe pain during and cramps afterwards for like 3 days. I used to bleed slightly afterwards. However I don’t know if I still do as it’s been a while 😂😫

I’m still waiting for a lap and all my tests for PID and STIs came back negative xx

I am being treated for possible endo. I had bleeding for a while after intercourse but no pain. Had a biopsy in September on a little bump on my cervix. Found low risk pre cancerous cells. They tend to wait 6 months before zapping them when you're young and they're low risk as they can go on their own - for me they didn't so had the 'cold coagulation' in February which is actually a rather hot procedure!

Pain and bleeding though - sounds more like endo. Try not to be too worried - and raise your worries with the DR xx

Hi, thank you for sharing. X

My last year’s smear test and then biopsy also showed some abnormalities, hence I had to repeat the smear test a year later. I’m now waiting for the results and really hope it’ll be ok fine!

I'm too young for smear so had to go straight in with the biopsy. If you had abnormalities then they could cause the bleeding - the nurse said to me the rougher the cervix the more likely to bleed and when they zap the cells away it smooths the cervix back out.

Just not sure if they would cause pain but I'm not an expert.

If your smear is ok then hopefully your mri picks up the potential endo. Don't be disheartened if not - I didn't get anywhere until after my lap.

My friend has endo and polycystic ovaries and she has painful sex and sometimes bleeds. Xx

Hi, I was diagnosed with endo back in 2013- I used to bleed after intercourse. Symptoms went away after laparoscopy. Good luck x

Really good to hear! :) Thank you for sharing! X

I’ve experienced light bleeding before I was diagnosed. Also I had an ct and mri scan and none of the scans picked up my endo and I have the worst case of endo which is stage 4. They do say that they don’t always pick everything up. They told me everything looked fine! But I was still in agony and knew something wasn’t right it took a while after for them to decide to open me up and do a larascopy which is how I was diagnosed and I’m guessing most people are. The scans seem to be a waste of time

Hi, you’re right about the scans and that’s what I told my doctor but he said that even though they did a lap, before they’d remove anything they’d have to do an MRI scan anyway...

Whatever the results of the scan is, I’m definitely going to push for a lap!!

in reply toMaggieBluee

You will get one either way because they can’t just leave you in your situation. I wish you the best and hope it’s not endo! Good luck x
