If it's suspected you have endo a lap is really the only way to definitely tell, although ultrasound can pick up some things and it's much less invasive! You can ask for one of course, any good gynae would listen to all your symptoms. Sometimes they do try certain drugs first to see if your symptoms improve. You should definitely talk to your doc about your concerns and needing a formal diagnosis, good luck x

I had an ultrasound and it didn't really show much but when I went back to meet my doctors she says that I've got it showed in blood test that I've got polycystic ovaries and endometriosis now I'm got a appointment on the 20th of May at a gynecologist

My symptoms most day are feeling fatigue head acme really bad back legs cramps chronic pain in my pelvis area and hips then it goes like doll my periods are the worst thing ever I'm climbing the walls but in agony hurts when I poop or after always bloated always feel so down in the dumps and sick after sex or sometimes when I have dose this sound like endo as iv had all this for a very long time since my early teens

Yes it does sound very much like endo. If it's been confirmed by blood tests too! You need to ask the gynaecologist for all avenues of treatment so whether they would recommend surgical or palliative. There's options but if you are suffering bowel wise I would suggest you need a laparoscopy to see how extensive the endo is. For me personally surgery has always been a better option in the long run ( especially for bowels) but sometimes things like the mirena can work for some people. Definately get as much info in may and don't hold back with telling the doc all your symptoms x

My old doctor told me that a lap is basically last resort after you have tried painkillers and a bunch of contraceptive pills. It’s just because a lap can cause future scar tissue to build up and cause pain all over again.

You can definitely ask for one though or at least talk to your gynae about the option xx

Hi Hun, I was diagnosed through an ultrasound as they could see the scar tissue. I was advised however not to go for the lap as many people have to have more than one and it never fully goes away. Instead I got the coil, which I know everyone doesn’t get on with but it’s worked for me. Hope this helps xx

I'm 6 weeks post op, had my 5th surgery which resulted in a hysterectomy along with removal stage 4 endo and I'm bk to climbing the walls against, in worse pain than wat it was b4 surgery so if u can try all the alternatives b4 jumping into a lap u may find something that helps for u x
