It varies as to where you live and your GP.I live in Hampshire in UK . The hospitals that treatment me are in Surrey.
For me I was referred for a ultrasound scan and had blood tests first. The GP did blood test. The ultrasound appointment took a week to come through. The ultrasound scan found a 6cm cyst. They advised my GP to contact a gynaecologist. This appointment I got a few weeks later. So about a month in all from when I saw my GP.
If you want to try natural pain relief. My profile has some posts that may help.
A castor oil pack treatment is also worth doing when you are not on your period. No recommend if you are pregnant though.
I hope you find some way to help ease the pain soon.
Hi - Depends where you are - I was referred to Gynaecology at Christmas and when I rang the hospital last week they said there is a 40 week wait in our area for the initial appointment at the moment so I may not get seen until October/November. Pain relief - I’m prescribed strongest co-codamol which I only use when pain is at its worst but take Amitriptyline everyday which has been a lifesaver for pain and sleep. If you can take Ibuprofen, your GP could give you a stronger form of it (either Naproxen or Diclofenac) on prescription and my TENs machine (got from Lloyds Pharmacy about £20) is amazing. Take care. Xxx
