Hi ladies, got my first endo clinic appointment on 3rd may. Just wondering if anyone took a pain diary with them on their first appointment or should I wait to see if he asks me to do one? x

Hello :) I took a complete symptom list that went back a good few years and he seemed to find that very useful so I’m sure it couldn’t hurt :) xx

hi. Yes I did this, I started as far back as I could ( I've not suffered for as long as some of the ladies on here ) but I did the major things like when I had emergency surgery and pains and description of the pain e.g my hip's felt like someone was screwing something into it which he said was typical endometriosis. Are you seeing a bsge specialist? He said it was very useful and was able to make a more unformed choice for pain relief.

hope it goes well. Xx

I only started my pain diary 5 days ago but have my period dates for the last 10 months and I get the same symptoms every month anyway and the pain is always just as bad. Yeah he's a bsge specialist xx

hi. They should find an over view very helpful, it was a time line with a very troublesome cyst with mine but it was 5 months. I hope you find it a positive experience, mine didn't go to plan in that my diagnosis was far worse than expected but the care I had was brilliant and the specialist was so understanding (& found my interest in exactly what they were going to do to me weird!!) do you have pain relief in place at the moment?

xx

Thanks for your reply, by the time I go to my appointment I will have a 3 week diary but I guess it's better than nothing. I have tried tranexamic acid, mefenamic acid and naproxen none of which helped xx

Yes definately take a pain diary. I went to a few jokers before i found a consultant who took me seriously....(got to kiss a few frogs before you meet your prince right?) Lol. Anyway by the time i saw him i had pretty much prepared a report for him to read. Lol

I've only done 2 weeks so far and it's like 4 pages long, looks like an essay lol x

I took a pain diary but none of my doctors or gynaes I saw looked at it. I just used it to explain my symptoms and when they happened as I always forget stuff haha xx
