Had full hysterectomy lucky enough to have ovaries left behind. Had felt my right ovary was potentially covered in endo but appears in photo it looked fine. Gynaecologist found a small amount of endo on back of cervix near bowel yet looked like nothing on uterus which I though very strange. I thought it stated in your uterus. ? And now awaiting biopsy on uterus to see if I had adeno as it was clear during surgery only that it was quite swollen and upon me looking at photos I don’t know what I’m meant to be seeing. I can’t help but feel that I may have made the wrong decision in the op. I don’t know. I’ll be waiting anxiously to hear back from my gynaecologist on a few weeks. I feel like a crazy person

Sorry you're feeling all confused.
Most women find some relief from endo after having a hysterectomy. Unfortunately it's sold as the idea of curing it
There isn't any scientific evidence as to how endo is formed outside the uterus but it is thought that uterine lining cells back up from the uterus through the fallopian tubes and out into the abdomen; they're not directly connected to the ovaries. It doesn't always embed on the uterus outside it can be anywhere in the abdomen, and if severe enough (grown enough) it creates its own oestrogen and thus can grown faster and produce more endo cells that can enter the blood stream and appear around the body. This is why some women have endo cells on their lungs or diaphragm, these are very rare though so don't get worried.
Removing the uterus will not stop endo or reverse it, it's a progressive disease, it can be slowed down, so removing the uterus may help that. However as the ovaries are still there and endo can create it's own oestrogen, plus the fact that we are mammals (all mammals whether male or female) we produce oestrogen, so endo will always grow.
Other things can also feel like endo symptoms so it's best to wait for biopsies to come back.
Just remember you did what you felt was right for you at the time of the op. Try not to feel like you'd made the wrong decision, we call all look back, hindsight is a great thing. Try to think "right I made that choice, okay, so where do I go from here?" Look at things going forward xx
