I had a stent from my kidney to my bladder 🙋🏽‍♀️

I won’t lie to you, it was really uncomfortable and the duration I had it, peeing hurt on my left side. But if you keep drinking lots of water and stay hydrated it does help. Xx

Oh god I’m dreading this! How do they take it out?

They pull it out but do not panic. They numb the area. Take your usual pain meds (maybe extra) half hour before and it’ll be a breeze.

But, do not think about that yet. You’ve got this, girl! Chin up xx

I had them during my excision surgery. They were taken out at the end of the surgery while I was still asleep. Sometimes they are needed longer term but they should have told you if this was the case. The only thing I noticed from them was that I had blood in my pee (through the catheter) on and off for the first 24 hours after surgery, but it quickly stopped and it was fine. x. Try not to worry.

I had 2 stents put in after my surgery in Dec 16. I had them in for 2 months as they took a section of my bladder away. I got some back pain from them and a urgency to go to the toilet when stood up but the pain was manageable and nothing compared to the pain from my endometriosis. I got instant relief when they took them out

Hi Kate

I had stents from my bladder to my kidneys. It was not fun!

I had them for 2 & half weeks and I had awful cramps for the first 3-4 days which was caused by then. My body got used to them but I still had dull achy cramps (like period pain) for the whole time I had them in. I also felt like I needed to wee all the time.

Having them taken out was also really unpleasant - that took about 15 mins - they give you some numbing gel but I’m sure mine did nothing.

Sorry to say it was the worst part of my recovery from my op but I felt pretty much instantly better after they were taken out.

Good luck!
