Hi everyone

Thought I’d check in & let you no how things are going 4 weeks post op from a laparoscopic hysterectomy & BSO, I’ve been doing ok until last Saturday when I started with lower abdo pain, back pain & blood in my urine stupidly I waited until Wednesday to get it sorted and thus so I have a urine infection & have antibiotics for 5 days, I finally managed to get an appt with the practice nurse to discuss HRT which is not as easy as I thought it would be, because of my previous dvt, arthritis & the fact I’m still on daily enoxaprin injections & I can’t have it until the nurse has spoken to a specialist in Newcastle 🙄, add to this there’s still blood in my urine, my back is killing me & feel like I’ve got cramp 😩😩, I think me going back to work next week maybe out the question.....and to top it off I was out for a walk down our local beach with my husband & dog and who do I bump into but the consultant that done my op, the only thing I could think of was OMG he’s saw my bits and bobs (could only happen to me) 😂😂😂

Glad to hear you're doing OK. I had this surgery last year and really you need to be referred to a menopause specialist for the HRT - this is not something that your GP or practice nurse can deal with, especially given that you have other issues. If you are under 40 the daisy network has a list of consultants who specialise in premature menopause. Hope this helps.

I didn’t realise that, I’m 38 I’ll have a look at the daisy network, any advice is welcome x

I didn't know either as no-one had told me but after 8 months struggling on tibolone I was finally referred and told that given our age we need long term support as the HRT needs to be regularly assessed and tweaked and we need bone density scans and bladder monitoring.
