I had laparoscopy 4 weeks ago to remove a cyst on my left ovary and still have some dull pain in the pelvic area plus some sharp pain a little below my main incision - it actually feels like two different types of pain, is this normal? The GP thinks I may have some nerve damage which is what's causing the sharp sudden pains. Anyone else have this? To find a plus, my incisions are healing well though.

I had excision surgery 5 weeks ago and still having pains. I put this down to me being sick constantly for 24 hrs 2 weeks after surgery. I think it undid all the healing. Am still on naproxen for this at the mo and hoping it stops soon as want to get back to normal. It sometimes takes longer and I think the older u r (I am 45) the longer it takes. Hope u feel better soon and rest up x
That sounds horrific, I'm so sorry it's been so tough for you! Yes, I completely underestimated that it'd take so long and genuinely was horrified when the surgeon said 1-2 weeks! Little did I know that I'd still not be 100% after 4 weeks. You are right though, it's a bit of a recovery process plus I've had a bit of a year and Covid-19 thrown in for good measure. Here's to a full recovery for us both....soon! xxx
Oh no catching COVID on top is my biggest fear. U must be worn out with it all. Let’s hope2021 will be a better one for us all x
I also have a cyst/fibroma on my left ovary but have been told it can’t be removed as it will bleed too much. It’s around 3cm how big was yours? X
Take care re Covid, keep your distance, wear a mask and wash your hands. All you can do really and I'm sure you'll be fine.
Mine was just under 5cm so not too big but I was advised to get rid of it. I'm sure they've weighed up your options and as it's relatively small it may be safer to leave it, so go with what they say - although, a second opinion never hurts if you'd feel more assured. x
Hey! I had 3 cysts removed from my ovarian and one Fallopian tube just over 2 months ago. Still getting a few aches and pains. GP said this is extremely normal, internal healing can take a long time. I saw another post of here saying sometimes can take 6 months In all to be complete healed internally. Especially if you’re having periods as the areas that the cysts have been removed and still moving around and working. Easier said than done but try not to over think it 😊 you’ve got this! Wishing you a pain free recovery ASAP!
Aw, thank you so much. You're right, I am over-thinking it but it's so frustrating to be wary of dull pain and sharp pains even when I stretch my leg a tiny bit.

Hi there - I had a laparoscopy and excision 2 1/2 weeks ago and I’ve had exactly the same sudden sharp pains, almost makes me jump sometimes! I also get pins and needles in my feet and hands with it which they’ve said is nerve damage. Same with the dull pelvic pain. It’s so re-assuring to hear others going through the same, though I’m sorry that you’re in pain and hope you feel better soon!
Hi, It really is re-assuring to hear others are going through something similar - I guess, that's the point of this great forum. I've had the sharp pains solely in the pelvis but the dull pain does kinda spread through to my hip sometimes. I can cope with the dullness but the sharp pains are sore!! I've had 2 sessions of acupuncture and that has helped with the dullness and the slight inflammation but sadly not the sharpness yet. Hope you're feeing better soon too and do let me know how you're doing and I'll do the same. x
