I am 50. I had a full hysterectomy last May due to large fibroids. Since then I have had lower pelvic pain that goes right through to my back. I feel lifeless and I am taking naproxen and codeine every day. In January, I had a laparoscopy to see what was going on and my gynae consultant found quite a bit of endometriosis at the top of my vagina which they removed. Since my laparoscopy my pelvic pain has returned and I feel so lethargic I am not fit for anything. I would like to hear from anyone in the same position please? If it has been removed why am I in constant pain post hysterectomy?

Hi Gillie38,
I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago and have never been pain free and I also feel tired often. I think nerves get leant on and damaged and I still have many symptoms of the endo, except of course the bleeding ( which was a relief!!!)
I know I also have spent years standing badly that my posture is ruined because of the pain and it hurts my hips, shoulders, ribs, legs, arms and jaws!! Your abdominal muscles get ruined by all the swelling, this makes us sore too.
I don't have any answers for you but just wanted to say you aren't alone. Hope you get some answers from the docs x
Thank you for your reply. It is nice to know that I am not alone. I have another three weeks before I see my specialist. Do you have your pain 24 hours a day? or does it subside at times?
I'm glad you've got an appointment coming up hope you get some answers ❤
I'm in pain most days, something hurts!!. I think we learn to cope with so much and we don't complain nearly enough!
Best of luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you that there's an answer to the pain x x
