Hi

I need some advise please. I have endo stage 4, had surgery about a month ago and my Dr. advise me to take Visanne. I've been suffering with all the side effects possible. depression, bleeding, headache, acne, weight gaining etc. Yesterday I went back to my Dr. he said I must try Zoladex, I've been reading about Zoladex like the side effects are so scary. been a week off the Visanne and it feels good, no bleeding no nothing I feel normal again. since my endo is servere I need to take something to suppress my endo from growing back. any advise?

I don’t know all your circumstances, age etc .... just wanted to say I had a positive experience of zoladex/prostap reducing symptoms, size of endometriomas etc ahead of surgery. At the age of 48 I now no longer have my ovaries (one engulfed with large dermoid cyst, other un -savable when large endometrioma was removed) and I am symptom free now.

Hi Girli1969

I am 28 years old. Been suffering with severe period pains for 16 years, diagnosed with endo about 2months ago. I had surgery last month. Been on Visanne for a month I stopped taking it mainly because of the bleeding.

thanks girli1969.

Hopefully someone closer to your age might be able to offer you more advice. I don’t know if you are in the UK, but if you are try and get seen by a specialist endo centre. I had two very different surgical and follow up experiences, one general gynae, the other specialist endo..... the difference in how I felt after surgery the second time was unbelievable. I have severe endo apparently,

I'm stage 4 and decided not to take anything as I don't tolerate hormone meds well, and had an adverse reaction to zoladex, though some ladies get on well with it.

Have you considered the mirena? Or utrogestan, which is meant to have fewer side effects as its bio identical in structure?

You don't have to do anything you don't want to. Its your body.

Hi i was 27 wen i started prostap injections it has got a lot of side effects but i found they settled after the first 3 months bar 1 i still have now and have been told it can last another year im now 31. I would recommend prostap it really helped me as they said i was out of options. Ive now no were near the pain i once had and the bleedin is much lighter and not as often (every 3weeks). I hope this helps and you find what works for you.
