I'd recommend applying a hot water bottle to your self and if you haven't already take some paracetamol. The coil can take weeks to months to settle in, for me it took months to settle but for others it's weeks or days. Just take today easy.

Hi, take it easy as much as you can for a few days. I used painkillers and heat. I found the immediate pain settled quite soon. Cramping continued on and off for a few months and I found that bending over forwards was one of the things that tended to trigger it.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you ladies for your replies. When I lie down that’s when I notice it’s most painful. Sitting down or standing is less painful somehow haha xx

Has the pain got better now? I’m currently debating whether to get it or not to see if it helps me but don’t know if I can cope being in more pain off getting it fitted x

The pain I have been experiencing is bad however, different bodies react differently and also how you tolerate pain.

Hopefully the next couple of weeks/months it settles and I see the benefits.

The pain I was experiencing for the past year was absolutely horrendous ☹️

If you look at my recent post before this one, a couple of ladies will give you more positives about the coil because on here many ladies focus on the bad things about them if you know what I mean. I would try it out and if you feel like it’s not for you then that’s how it is, my gynae said for endometriosis symptoms- to try out the coil as she recommends it xx

Thanks. I have read more positives than negatives. I think I just need to book in and get it done and stop being stupid haha I suppose I’ll never know until I get it xx

I had booked in to get it done for a week in advance and I just kept reading the negatives about it and in the end I cancelled my appointment.

I eventually started reading the advantages etc about the mirena coil and booked an appointment for the next day. It’s probably best if you were to do that if you’re like me and will talk yourself out of it 😂 xx
