Went to the doctors today (for the 100th time regarding pains) and the doctor told me it was bowl Spasms!! Certainly not. I described every single pain and symptoms and she told me it was that. Even despite her knowing the process i am currently undergoing with the gynaecologist.
The doc had prescribed me Mebeverine 135mg.
I had been prescribed Codeine 15/30mg, Colafac 200mg, Solpadol 30/50mg and Mefanamic Acid 350mg. NONE OF THESE WORKED FOR PAIN OR BLEEDING. I asked the doc if she could give me any stronger painkillers and she said no. I was so upset as I now have to live with this pain and to be told to ‘deal with it’
Any ideas on how I get something stronger. I live in the north east of England and am 17 x

Honestly as bad as this sounds, everytime you feel you are in so much pain that you can’t handle it and your meds aren’t cutting it, go to a&e, it was the only way my gp would prescribe me anything stronger than cocodomal, they also started taking me seriously when I said I was in pain because they had the reports from a&e doctors!! It’s stupid that you have to do something as extreme as that just to be taken seriously!! Especially with our NHS the way it is, but it was the only thing that worked for me unfortunately! If you don’t want to do that, move GPs, you have a right to be treated wherever you want to be, especially now you’re over the age of 16, hope things get better soon xx
I agree with mcmbx; when it's bad go to a&e or your walk in / out of hours (call 111 for the walk in, as they'll book the appointment rather than waiting). Hopefully then your gp will pay you some attention.
You are entitiled to a second opinion and sometimes because you've gone in sooo many times with pain they don't listen so won't invesitigate, you can request to change your doctor. Sometimes the new one will look at the whole picture. Keep a month a view diary of how you're feeling pain wise and energy levels, mark pain using your own pain scale, this way they can see what's going on when and if it's cyclical.
My mefenamic acid helps reduce the pain when I am ovulating and having a period. I know it take a while to build up in your body so I take it once daily then 3x a day when I know I will start ovulation. The pain killers don't really work as such but find it gives me a floaty feeling to deal with pain. I'm just starting a anti inflammatory diet, taking vitamins and cutting down on caffeine. I'm determined not to go down surgery route till I am forced to do so.
I have tried so many different medications in which I think I was taking so many different ones given to me by the doctor that it had to be unhealthy. I’ve been advised to get either the coil or the depo injection. I feel uncomfortable about both of them however if I’m the long run it’s going to help with my excessive bleeding and pains then I’m willing to try it.
My diet probably doesn’t help with most of my symptoms haha xx
I had both the coil and depo. To be fair both have their advantages in the case of endo I refused both though as I had been on hormone treatment since i was 12 and still ended up where I am today. I have been reading loads about endo on internet as I to would like to be off the zillion tablets I am taking. There really is a lot of info out there on diet, supplements etc. My diet isn't the best either lol. Turmeric with black pepper is supposed to be quite good for anti inflammatory, am waiting for mine to arrive as we speak. Have also started to keep a pain, meds, food and activity diary to see if I can find anything that makes it come on worse.
