Hi I had my lap yesterday. I was very in and out after surgery picking up bits and pieces of the conversations going on around me. I did eventually come too but literally slept all day. My advice stock up on your pain killers. I ran out. Thinking I had enough and ended up getting the wrong ones but anyway. Rest rest rest and don’t over exert yourself. I find that my wound sights hurt more today but that was to be expected after the hospital pain relief wore off.

Make sure you have enough catch up tv to keep you occupied if you are awake or a good book. Good luck 😉 xx

Hi, I had my 1st lap done last Monday and they found endo on my bladder and bowel but they couldn't remove as my bowel was full and it's less risky to remove when its empty. I'm still a little sore from it now but I got lots of lovely advise before mine from this site so I'd recommend:

- Get your house chores done before hand and get the bedding changed ready for your return. Get the food shop in and have easy meals on hand or batch cook before.

- Get lots of peppermint tea, wind relief tablets and hot water bottle / heat pack to help relief the gas pain in your shoulders/tummy

- Pack a night bag just incase, dressing gown, slippers, pjs - comfy ones that are baggy, a pillow to put over your tummy on the car ride home, ipad/tablet with downloaded film or TV whilst you wait or a book or magazines

- And finally when you get home just rest as much as you can and try wander around when you feel like it

Oh and I also have a V shaped pillow that helps prop me up and I love it when I've had an operation.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Kezza,

I had my second lap on the 8th February, you'll feel a bit of discomfort for a couple of days (this was mostly the CO2 gas pain causing it for me) but honestly after that you'll soon start to feel better?

I was going for long walks about 4 days after the operation, alongside lots of rest.

You'll be fine, good luck!! xx

Hii, mine was a bit different coz I had a lap to diagnose as well as treat Endo.

The surgery lasted for about 2hrs coz Endo was stage 4 and pretty much on all my organs. He got most of it out except the ones on my bowel. I had planned to spend a night so i stayed in the hospital. The pain killers helped and I was fine.

I started to eat food by day 2 but The 2nd night after the surgery, I was throwing up all through the night, so I had to stay in the hospital for one more night.

Asides from not tolerating food early enough, evrything else was fine. Mine wasnt the normal experience, but that was it! You will be fine.

Post surgery- i was home for 2 weeks, evrything else was fine. It also took about 7-10 days after surgery before I was able to poop.
