Discharged after putting in complaint

As many of you know my lap got cancelled on the 9th feb due to useless consultant.

Rebooked me in for 9th march. After ringing this morning to change pre op time I have been told that he has discharged me due to me lodging a complaint!!

He was a general gynae an tbh he didnt give me no pain relief/treatment plan.

I now have to go back to gp to try and get referred to a specialist. So waiting game again!

To top it off ive come on my period today and can barely move was covered in blood this morning(TMI) which defo is not normal.

Feel at a loss with everything atm.

Sorry for the long rant but feel ineeded to let it all out x

I’m so sorry to hear this Aaleyah! Surely that isn’t right....usually when you complain they do everything they can to rectify the error! Is there a different consultant you can be transferred to? I’d definitely take it further you shouldn’t be treated this way xx

Hello honey !!!! They should refer you to another consultant immediately you shouldn’t have to go through your doctor again this is ridiculous , I would call the hospital again and ask to be seen by another consultant , if they still won’t allow it, I guess it’s just meant to be . I went through hell to finally get an accredited doctor and it was really worth the wait try and find an accredited doctor in your area and ask to be seen by them . I’m the mean time take tumeric tablets :) they work wonders when taken over time and plenty of heat gel xxxxx Don’t worry it will all be resolved it’s all with good time x

The problem i have is iwas under a private hospital paid for through the nhs, so ionly have the consultants secretarys number an she was very rude this morning. And told me it was through my gp if iwant to be re referred to a specialist.

Im going to speak to my gp as he has been very good to get me to this point.

The consultant iwas under wae literally useless an so rude. Even on my lap day he had the nerve to ask if im still in pain like iwas lying all that time.

X

With private hospitals through the NHS I dont think you can complain through PALS I tried but I couldn't think thats why they are so rubbish and arent worried about come back , I think we are treated as second class as NHS patients in the private hospitals sometimes, which is totally wrong as the NHS is paying for our treatment anyway. You can bet private patients dont get treated like you have.

Annoying but at least hes not done a useless lap and said he cant see anything then you would have to start again anyway, best to get transferred to a bsge centre. I know its annoying waiting but will be alot better :)

Good luck xxxx

Hi, I agree that you are better off without this gynae. His behaviour is very unprofessional. You could consider complaining that he discharged you for complaining. No doctor should do that. You’d think the private hospital who employs him would be concerned about that kind of behaviour. It’s not exactly good customer care, which is what the private sector prides itself on.

Good that you have a supportive GP. They should be able to advise on how to get seen quickly elsewhere.

I'm furious for you that's not on one bit. If I was you I'd contact pals and nice and explain what's happened he's wrong to discharge you like that you complained within your own right, so sorry your having so much trouble with your period too hun. Big hugs 💗🤗😘

Best thing. Keep me updated hun ridiculous this is as if you don't have enough to cope with, gynae more like baby throwing his toys out the pram. 💗🤗😘

I’m so sorry I am shocked you’ve been so badly treated. He sounds very unprofessional and in the long run you are much better off without him. Maybe this has worked out for the best- hopefully you’ll get a better more supportive consultant. Having surgery is a big deal and you need to trust the consultant completely 😊

Talk to your GP- I expect he will be horrified. I’m glad you’ve got a supportive GP makes a huge difference. 😊 Also your GP will be able to prescribe effective painkillers and mine also prescribed transexsmic acid which have eased my heavy bleeding whilst I await my second laparoscopy think the endo is back 🙄 As you have heavy bleeding get your gp to check your iron - mine was found to be very low and I’m on ferrous sulphate 3 a day .

Good luck hun really hope this gets sorted soon xoxo

Thank you for taking time to reply.

He was very unprofessional, I have a friend who works at the same department as him an she was very shocked when itold her.

I am hoping to see my gp tomoro to explain what has happened an to get a more effective painkiller 🤞

Will get him to check bloods too.

Xx

Good luck for tomorrow hope your GP can sort this out 😊 be careful not to berate the consultant- I know he’s acted like a jerk but you don’t want to get your gps back up - medics do defend each other unless it’s really bad - my ex GP took on a ex consultant over bad treatment 🙌🏻 You will need your GP fighting your corner which I’m sure he will do 😊 the consultant has done enough to make himself look bad!!! xoxo

Hi Aaleyah. I would complain to you CCG (clinical commissioning group). They fund your NHS treatment wherever it is including with private hospitals. They don’t notmally get involved in individual cases, but they can. They also have power over the providers to hold them to account and will want to know if their patients aren’t being well treated.

Good luck.
