Hi All,

I had a lap on the 2nd of Jan and endo was removed via a gas?

I thought the problems would go away after but i have now had yet another breakthrough bleed even though i am on the mini pill and am once again in a lot of paining having to constantly take tramadol :( is there a chance that they could of missed some or is this just normal?

I’m not sure but could the bleed be from the pill?

Not sure about the pain though :( I worry about this too after only just having my lap last week. Xx

I have been on this pill for nearly 2 years now and just assume its the endo that causes me to breakthrough and bleed really heavy even though northisterone is meant to stop this. xx

Ah okay. Really unsure then.. did you see an endo specialist? I wondered if you could contact them again if so? Get them to even call you so you can ask if it is normal or not.

My surgeon said that although they removed my endo, some can be under the surface and he might not have gotten it all! X

Sorry that you're feeling horrible :(

It can take up to three months for your body to settle down after an op, I've not heard of people being told to keep taking the pill after during recovery: I thought the idea is to see how your body is doing naturally as on the pill you'll have no idea what's normal for you during recovery. But if the doc says take it, I'd ask why? if they've taken out the endo why would you need the pill during recovery? Just stuff I'd ask! Okay yes the contraception point of view I get.

Is the breakthrough bleed when you're off the pill? as that's what the "period" is called; the gap when you're off it. Or do you mean actually while still on it?

The pain will be because you've had an op to remove endo and the body cant tell endo pain from removed endo pain: it will take time to go away, and you'll get an idea of what pain is endo and what is recovery.

I'm not sure he just told me to keep taking it but i will ask the question. and when i say break through bleeding i meant that its when I am taking the pill

If you're worried perhaps book a doc appointment or go back and see your specialist. It may be your body resetting itself; I'm not on the pill but after my op my cycle shifted by a week, possibly due to the stress of the op. I've heard for some the op can cause a period and the cycle starts new from there. Either way it's your body and you know what feels right / doesn't!

Definitely ask questions, the pill helps stop symptoms of endo but if you've had an op to have as much removed as they can then why the pill? I'd be confused!

Not what you're looking for?
