6 days after laparoscopy surgery for endometriosis

I’m extremely frustrated and down. I recently had three cyst and a good amount of endometriosis removed. I did good for the first few days but the last days have been crazy. I have severe aching legs from the hips to my knees and calves. My bigger concern is the dizziness. I can’t seem to get answers from surgeon. What are other experiences have you had? Any dizziness or issues with aching legs. I know I’m supposed to be up moving around but that’s pretty difficult when the dizziness takes me back to the couch or to bed. Grateful for any insight offered.

Did you have a bad reaction to the anaesthetic?

I did and have really struggled with heart palpations, breathlessness, dizziness and nausea following my lap just over 3 weeks ago. I'm still getting episodes where I go limp and breathless now.

By day 7 I was still unable to stand up straight and struggled to walk unaided. I too had quite a lot of endo removed, right over was unstuck and a cyst ruptured on my ovary. I started to improve in the 2nd week but compared to a previous operation my recovery has been very slow.

Are you able to call your GP and speak over the phone? I think it takes around a week for the anaesthetic to work it's way out of your body but you can still have symptoms for a long time afterwards.

Everyone's different and I can only tell you my experience.

I hope the dizziness eases soon.

All the best xx

hi. How are you feeling today? Did you stay in hospital for a few days after the operation? I had cysts, endometriosis and a frozen pelvis dealt with last may and i was dizzy afterwards but it was due to low blood pressure, drinking plenty of water helped. I was also advised to be kind to myself and not expect to much to quickly as even though it's keyhole it's still major surgery so I gave myself little goals of being up for a few minutes then having a rest and just gradually built it up. I was lucky that I'm self employed and had arranged 12 weeks for a full recovery and stayed with my parents for 3 weeks so I wasn't looking at jobs that needed attention. I was extremely tired as well and when I asked a friend that's an anaesthetist she said its normal to take a good 6 weeks to get over an general anesthetic so I found that reassuring to. Has the op helped with your pain? Xx

Thank you for taking the time to help. Today is Day 8 since lap and the dizziness started on day 4. I’m still dizzy. 2 days ago the doctor had me go back in to do my blood work and vitals. Everything was the norm other than my blood pressure was a little high but they said it’s the norm for me. Thank you for reminding me it’s not just a little surgery.

The dizziness has yet to let up and I’m scheduled to return to work in 5 days. It’s discouraging to not know what is causing this. I’m left to worry.

The pain is getting better:)

Thank you again
