When to get injected with GNRH?

Does anyone know when can we get the injection during our cycle? like can i get it in the second phase of the cycle?

Thanks a lot Janine! Do you know if there is a real reason for it? Because i think it seems more logical during the second half, as there is progesteron production that time, so maybe the initial estrogen surge is more tolerable this way. Do u mind me asking about your experiences about the injection?

I think by having it while you’re on your period there is less chance of having bleeding at the start of your next cycle, because the medication will have had time to properly take affect. It’s best when you’re on your period otherwise your subsequent injections will also be out of sync and I think you’re more likely to have bleeding. This was the advice I was given by my doctor. I found Prostap to be brilliant for me, I’m currently on a nine month stretch of taking it while waiting for an op xxx

Thanks Janine, it sounds logical. But i'm still very afraid of the initial flare up symptoms :/ how was that with you? I actually don't suffer from the bleeding, just in general especially when my estrogen level is high, so this falre up seems frightful. Do you think prostap is actually shrinking your endo, or just reducing pain? Not to underrate the latter

It’s true that there can be an initial flare of pain, but I’ve taken three courses of Prostap now (one immediately after surgery and two in the run up to surgeries) and only experienced the initial flare in the two while I was waiting for surgery. And only after the first injection. It’s tolerable for me and well worth getting through for the benefit of much reduced pain. I’m not sure if Prostap reduces my endo, I think it’s more likely it just reduces the pain it causes and I do believe it helps prevent further endo developing xxx

I hope Janine your op will be successful and you won't need any more surgery after the this one!! Hm it's very strange that patients many times don't experience GNRHs to reduce the actual disease. If you check the 'scientific' publications for the efficacy of them, they always claim GNRHs very potently reduce the disease, like to half size. I was repeatedly offered it to reduce endo. But as i believe what fellow sufferers say about the outcome, i declined until now, maybe will in the future Were you checked on ultrasound before and after the courses? If it cannot reduce the disease, i guess i will choose the pain killers.
