Excruciating period pains

Hi ladies, I’m at stage four with one ovary crushed now after my laparoscopy last March I haven’t had much pain however when I get my period it’s excruciating. I’ve tried tramadol, cocodamol, naproxen and none of them seem to help 😞😞 any suggestions what to try?

I take the exact same pain relief as you.

Following my 3rd lap in Oct the consultant prescribed me Gabapentin in Dec which is normally for epilepsy. It treats the pain which comes from the nerve endings. i constantly take my pain relief, it might help to take yours regularly or at least a few days before your period.

Also like to champion tumeric capsules which help with inflammation, have helped me so much since surgery. I'm not pain free but a combination of the above helps.

Thankyou, yes my old boss recommended turmeric tea! I didn’t like the sound of that so I’ll look at the capsules.

I literally don’t move for the first 3 days it’s awful x

Hi, I’m not sure turmeric in capsules works. My memory from listening to this programme is that it needs to be mixed with an oil of some kind. It’s still in iPlayer, so have a listen (and let us know, if I’ve misremembered!)

Sorry for late reply (don't log on too often) I'll pm you the tumeric version I buy as it's mixed with black pepper for better absorbtion. It's hard as what works for some doesn't for others. Thanks for the link! Sending positive thoughts your way.
