First time mom

I'm a first-time mom, due in February. Earlier I was having endometriosis. I got the best treatment. Finally, I am pregnant. Recently, I am having terrible constipation. I started taking Miralax daily. No more issues with constipation. My concern is that it's a class C and some doctors say it's fine but some don't. I had my 37 weeks check up yesterday. My doctor's concern is that I haven't gained any weight in 3-4 weeks. I should gain 1 lb per week. Now I'm worried that Miralax maybe the reason. I stopped gaining weight since then. Now have 2-4 bowel movements per day and that my baby may not get the nutrients he needs. I'd like to hear from others that have taken Miralax daily and if your baby was okay or not.

I would cut back on the Miralax, if only because your body will become reliant on it and soon you won’t be able to go without it. 2-4 bowel movements per day seems excessive. Pregnancy often causes constipation, and you should only take stool softeners as needed, not continuously.

I would stop the miralax. Try using oranges prunes natural ways to soften stools. Your right baby needs nutrients. It's quite clever how the body works when pregnant shows the digestive system down to get the nutrients to bubz. Drink lots of water also. Wish you luck hun hope you manage to gain weight soon xxx

Hey there friend. how are you doing? I hope that this finds you well. I am sorry to hear that you are going through so many issues. However try to cheer up a little. It is amazing that you are about to become a mum. Many of us here dream about it daily. I personally cannot even fathom what it would be like to be a mum as of this point. Anyway, I got carried away... You should immediately stop taking Miralax! That is a very strong drug to begin with. I don't think it is good to take it when pregnant. Did a doctor recommended it? We don't have Miralax exactly here in Italy but I know what you are talking about. So yeah do stop taking that drug after that you will be fine hopefully. Take good care dear. Your angel deserves a healthy mum :)! God bless you.
