After diagnostic and the coil

I was recently diagnosed with endo but they didnt remove anything because I need an mri and then I need to see a specialist. At the same time I had the coil fitted, for these past few weeks I've been spotting but had minimal pain until today I've had period back achy pain ( from trying to understand my letter I think I have endo on the bowel) and pain going to the loo. However because they havent removed anything I was wondering is it more painless with the endo removed or is this the best the coil is going to work for me? 😮 Also when I go for an MRI will there be needles involved someone who I know had a similar scan had something injected in her halfway through 😮

Hi, the Mirena coil takes some months to settle in so you probably haven’t had the full benefit yet. Hopefully things will continue to improve.

To see endo on an MRI they usually give a contrast of Gadolinium. Here is an info leaflet.

I didn’t find it a problem. In fact it was the jelly they used to fill my vagina and rectum which was more tricky. Not painful but uncomfortable and I leaked for several hours afterward. My advice is to take your own sanitary towel!
