Quick background, basically last Sat night / Sun morning I went to A&E because of a sharp stabbing pain in my right lower abdomen. It is not like me to go to hospital due to pain but it was horrendous and none of my painkillers was even touching it. Clinical observations was okay slightly high heart rate and blood pressure but that's normal with pain. Fast forward to 4 days later (and after what I would describe as poor care) after 3 blood tests that found an increase in my white cell count, negative pregnancy tests, half hearted abdominal ultra sound which was apparently clear and a refusal of a trans vaginal / any other investigations... I was discharged with Oramoph and told to go back as an outpatient in a week.
Its been a week since I 1st went to hospital, The pain is still here and is still just as bad without the Oramorph and Codeine (tried to not take them because they are not long term fixes) it is still severe when taking the medication just slightly duller.
I have been doing some research and come across ovarian torsion "twisted ovary" and I have 90% of the symptoms and the pain described including the increased white cell count. I have read that the ovary can twist and untwist itself over days/weeks until it is too late but I was just wondering if anyone has had a twisted ovary what it was like how long the pain lasted and what they did about it.
Because I have a high pain threshold (like most of you ladies) due to being in chronic pain I felt like I was not believed about how bad it was by the Dr's and nurses at the hospital and also because I have a diagnosis of endometriosis and polycystic ovaries and have recently been on Clomid I feel they just used that as an excuse not to carry out further tests.
Any info advice would be appreciated!
