Hi. Just a quick question to everyone. My gp said zoladex is only liscensed for 6 injections to treat endometriosis, no more and not to be reapeated. Ive heard this a few times from consultants. How are some people taking it for soooo much longer. I was just wondering...not that i would, 6 was way too many. Xx

Your right it is only supposed to be used for 6 months.
It was the only thing that helped with my pain after trying everything although the side effects were awful.
Each gynaecologist is different. I was given the option of staying on it and did for 18 months.
It was my decision to come off it at 18 months as I was wary that of the effects of staying on it for too long.
Into gynaecologist said if I wanted to go back on it at any point I could. I didn’t have to have a certain amount of time off it before going back on it.
I did have a couple of bone scans whilst in it to check for any bone issues that the injection may cause.
I think each gynaecologist is different. I have had zoladex before and was on it 3 months as my gynaecologist then said 3 months is just as effective as 6 months. They all say different things x
Thanks for your reply kellymarie26! All my symptoms are back after i stopped my injections. I had my last one end of august. Being pain free was amazing but i couldnt go on. Ive been referred to a pain management team to try get a better handle on things. Hope it works because the docs wont give me strong pain relief and i cant have anymore synthetic hormones xx takecare x
