Discharged after Lap, but the pain is back! Help!

Hi all

I had my first lap around 2 years ago, endo found on bowle but not removed. They gave me the mirena coil which stopped my periods and helped to resolve the pain.

As time has gone on the symptoms of endo have gotten worse. Fatigue, picking up illnesses more quickly than usual, sickness, constipation, diarrhoea, terrible swelling and the pain is becoming unbearable. Last week it hurt to walk my insides felt bruised.

Mentally it is killing me I can't take the symptoms anymore it's ruining my life. Problem is I have been discharged, I am due to go back to drs this weekend but am worried they will fob me off. Has anyone had the same experience and have any advice on how to get my dr to take me seriously? I think another lap is the only answer to see if the problem has got worse but I'm worried because I've had one they won't offer me another.

Make sure you see a sympathetic Doctor, see if you can change if you have to.

If you can, go with a friend, mother, boyfriend especially one that knows what you have been going through, who will make the right sympathetic noises and has a soured face!

Write everything down, just in case you forget. You have a right to be seen and heard. There is alot of pain relief available now. Make sure you get referred to a BSGE centre.

These are brilliant thanks ladies. I had no idea there were endo centres. I really need to see someone as is really starting to take over. There's only so much denial you can live in and brave faces you can try and keep on!
