A month after my laparoscopy and my pain is back.

I had a lap on 13th Dec, after excruciating bladder pain, leg numbness, painful sex, fatigue, etc... They found Endo behind cervix and on both fallopian tubes. Luckily they removed it all, and I have been pain-free and happy ever since...until this morning, when I had the same old dreadful bladder pain again. I cried so much at my boyfriend, and was so disappointed. I crawled into uni and managed to get through the day, but I am so worried it hasn't ended.

Anyone with similar problem?

Hi Elaine, thanks for your message. I'm so sorry that your endo degree so quickly and that you lost your ovary. I'm so frightened of mine growing back. How are you now? How do you manage things? I'm not on a treatment plan other than tri-cycling my pill.

Hi there!

Sorry to hear your in terrible pain : ( I had my lap/surgery in September and I haven't had one day pain free since that day - my pain has got worse since time has went on and the result is I had to leave my jobs.

Have you been back to your GP?

Hope your feeling better soon!

hi helen

i know where you are coming from with this, i had my lap in september and have only just started to become pain free (ish) now. i know that your body takes longer to heal when it is on the inside so it is normal to still be in pain after the lap for a good while. the average heal time of your insides after a lap is about 10-12 weeks and that's about the time my pain started to subside :)

saying that, my pain was not as intense as before my lap so it was bearable while i was healing, if yours is so bad it's making you cry i would definitely say go back to your gp :)

hopefully it'll ease but it's best to get it checked. hope you feel better soon :)

xx

Thanks so much for all the advice and information. I guess I need to be patient and not expect too much. I called the surgeon and left a message re: what pains I have had. I don't really trust the GPs as they haven't got a clue. Their answer to everything is just painkillers. I am back on the anti-infammatories, so hopefully that will help. I can prescribe those myself! I don't want to go back onto Diclofenac as it was really affecting my singing voice (I am a classical singer). Therefore, I am sticking with Ibuprofen and paracetamol.

Anneliese: I feel so sorry that you've had to give up your jobs. I have had to cancel tons of concerts, auditions, etc, and being freelance means that financial loss is a real problem. What do you do for a living? Good luck with it. I hope things improve. We have to keep pestering health care professionals to take us seriously. Let's not give up!

Hi Helen,

Im trained as a make up artist - so i done that freelance part time aswell as other retail positions. We really do need to keep pestering them , I managed to get a referral back to my gynaecologist, so maybe you would be as well trying that if things dont start looking up soon!

Please keep me updated in how your feeling, hopefully you start improving soon : )

Take care xx

As some of the others have said you could still be recovering from the op, however, you know your own body better than anyone and personally I can tell from the type of pain I get whether its recovering from operations or the dreadful return of the endo pain. A couple of months after my first op which was done as an emergency operation after I ended up in A&E i was lucky enough to go to a private consultant but i could tell she wasnt convinced that the endo could have returned so quickly and I knew from the way she was with me and the letter to my GP that she did not believe it could have returned, she knew the previous surgeon and said he would have removed all the endo. Despite this I went ahead and had a second laparoscopy and she found lots of endo, she didnt say it directly but I got the impression that it had not been carried out correctly on my first op (they just removed the cysts) Anyway I wont go on about my own issues my point is that you know better than anyone, if you feel things arent right go back and say so, cause a fuss if you have to! Also, I agree that Zoladex straight after an op is a good thing to do, or at least it was for me.

I had my lap in January and had nothing but pain since Iv had it fed up going to the doctors and telling me to take pain relief the pain got really unbearable in September to the point I was crying so much my husband had to take me into gynae and kept me in two days they gave me a scan showed 3 cm cyst on right ovary but said my pain is due to endo but saw my consultant and he wasn't very helpful Iv went back to my gp and demanded a second opinion which she relplied take ur pain relief and stop wasting my time I left the room in tears awerness needs to be raised and I'm going to see another gp and hopefully I'll get sent to a specialist endo centre xx

I just a had a Lap in September 2015 for endo and removal of 2 cysts one was 7cm and the other one was 6cm. I was put on birth control right after surgery, now I started with pain within a month after my surgery I went to get an ultrasound and my cysts are back. I don't know why it they came back to quickly I am so scared of what is going to happened if I am going need to be having surgeries over and over. Has anyone had this happened I've just had a surgery 3 months ago and now another one?
