Hey guys, Just wondered if any of you have experienced Pelvic pain from standing for long periods of time? I was at the BBC Radio 2 concert on Sunday in London with my husband, which was absolutely amazing. However, during the acts when we were standing watching them my pelvis completely seized up and the only thing that really helped me was walking it off to losen off the muscles. I had to go to the toilet at one point and sitting down was the sorest feeling ever which actually almost brought me to tears as it felt like my muscles were pulling away when I sat.
It didn't dampen my experience of the concert at all as I knew how to manage it, but just wondered if anyone else had experienced something similar. I have my first shift on Thursday for sure, possibly one tomorrow if I get called as I am on supply for Midlothian council. I am a wee bit nervous about going back, how did everyone else feel going back to work after their laparoscopy? My first one was the 6th August. I don't feel I'll be back to work for long before my next op as I was just discussed at a meeting this morning apparently. Cannot wait for all this to be over with. xxx

Hello yes I also get a seized pelvis when sitting or standing too long... I find very it very painful to first move then it eases off.. iv found doing gentle hip/leg stretches daily helps this.. it's not stopped it but it has helped it stop happening too often. As for returning after a lap I went back after 2 weeks and that was a silly idea.. I then had to take a further 2 weeks off to recover 🙈 take it steady and only return when ur ready to do so.. I'm still waiting for the end surgery to remove and have had to sign myself for the time being and if I'm honest I feel better than I have done for a long time for taking time to rest! My thoughts are with you and hope you get all this sorted soon xxx
thank you for your reply, it is very helpful knowing people also suffer from similar symptoms, makes you understand it a bit better. Yeah I do this also. I have the second op soon, I have endo on the surface of my bowel and alot of it, been told itll be a long op. I am not feeling as nervous about it now as I was, I think I have accepted it more and knowing it will help. Yeah they tell you a two week sick line will help, but they should be more realistic about the recovery time for people. I'd say a 4 weeks sickline when they sign you off initially is more realistically. What is the reason for it affecting our pelvis like this? I have still to understand it. I know it is to do with the abdominal muscles and how large they are.
you too, are your treatments all finished? Yeah I do too. It's helping me work out what I can and cannot do also. xxxxx
Your more than welcome! I don't know any official answers as to why it does that sorry my only thinking is that because there's a mass there.. it's possibly pushing muscles out they way or perhaps stiffing them or even perhaps subconsciously you know that area hurts and it gets stiff where u try and displace your weight maybe.. I'm planning on asking when I see them next week, I'll let you know if I can a good answer!
Do you mind me asking have you had any sickness or upset tummy with that? I also have endro on my bowl I'm actually waiting for further tests on my bowls next week and then surgery depending on what my bowl looks like. I wish you the best of luck with your next op, I'd just been talking to a lady who had several ops on her bowl and she said since she now feels amazing fully healthy and no tiredness xxx
aww amazing, that is really great to hear when people tell you things like that. It is so amazing how many people have actually had this.
It is hard to tell if it was the endo on the bowel that was causing my sickness feeling, when I look back on things. I haven't recently though. It is possible at times that it could have been linked with that though. I have a feeling that I will be going in for more than one as my surgeon said that there is alot of endo on the surface of my bowel. I had an MRI scan on my bowel and had an iv jag of Buscapan which I wasn't aware I was getting, it can make your vision go blurry, so if you ever have to go for an MRI of your pelvic and bowel area just be prepared for that. I wouldn't recommend driving to the hospital, I was lucky as I don't drive. You have similar muscles in the back of your eyes as you do your bowel, so no idea if that is why tiredness affects you or not, but I found that interesting.
keep me posted with how you get on, what date is your op? xx
It's crazy.. I'm 26 and had never even heard about it until I was diagnosed.. for years I just thought the pain was not exercising enough (as my mother wud tell me lol) and the tiredness I was just lazy and my monthly messed up cycles.. well just me 😂 🙈 wow that is interesting actually.. I went from not wearing glasses to full times glasses over these past 2 years and I had enough old growth to suggest iv had it for a number of years hmm..?!
No date yet more tests on my bowls next week then a promise of a 2 week wait as my hospital has messed up my appointments and iv been waiting 3 months for these tests when it was only suppose to be 6 weeks... so fingers crossed October!
Have you got any dates yet? I'm sorry to hear it's going to take more than one, that sounds horrendous, I hope it all goes well for you and resolves everything!! Same to you xxx
yeah, so I reckon it does put a strain on both muscles, will be interesting to see if you still need glasses. I suffer from migraines quite a bit, so I look forward to not having them as often in the future, I am going to bring this all up with my surgeon too as I think it is good for them to know links incase they haven't thought of them already. Could also explain the woman you were speaking to doesn't get any tiredness anymore? It is quite exciting when you think about it. I have an astigmatism in my eyes so I have worn glasses since I was young, but will be interesting to see if my prescription goes down a notch as my eyes have felt more strained for sure recently. I honestly am so excited for us that our doctors are getting to the bottom of fixing us. It would be fab to keep in touch. I am interested to see how I am going to feel after the operation, I hope they can get it all out in one go, but I keep telling myself there is a possibility of having to go back again, so I don't get disappointed.
