Large Polyp - Any idea on waiting times for removal? What are your experiences?

Hi all,

I am 37 and I have a long term history of pelvic & liver/diaphragm endo. I have had various surgeries & still have some endometriomas and adenomyosis.

I have been trying to get pregnant for the last 3 years & have had various surgeries and 3 miscarriages so far - the last one at the beginning in May. I have been having significant cramping and spotting between periods & after sex, my periods have also become irregular. I have had an ultrasound scan almost 3 weeks ago in which the radiographer said I have a large uterine polyp of 18mm. I have not heard anything at all yet from my consultant. Obviously this needs to come out asap as I am unlikely to get pregnant with the size of the polyp and symptoms I am having.

What are peoples experiences in relation to timescales for polyp removal after being scanned? I can't seem to find anything on the NHS websites at all.

Many thanks

Becky
