I asked for a CA125 blood test because I had bloating, constipation and pelvic discomfort on the left side, but NO Pain.
It was 134. The ultrasound was all normal, I had repeated the CA125 two more times, and it is still climbing up, it was 158 last month. My gynaecologist ordered an MRI. They have found a broad abnormal tissue T2 weighted, which is starting behind my uterus and goes down on my rectum. Probably endometriosis. My doctor said it's 99% not cancer. The laparoscopy can turn to a major operation, and they might need to cut out some part of my bowels. She suggested to start progesteron pill only for two months to shrink the endo, and check CA125 again.
Now I have rectal pain...but after my period almost all pain gone...I am still going crazy...what if it is not endometriosis and I am wasting my time with pills???
Do they know from MRI if its a benign tissue?
Does Progesteron can shrink endo?
I know that only laparoscopy can diagnose endo or anything else. What should I do? I agreed on the pills but now I have doubts..
I lost my Mum in June. She had ovarian cancer spread on bowels. She had a stoma bag, I dont want that, but I want to live!!!
Should I go back and ask for the laparoscopy straight away??

Yes, I told her about my mother, but based on MRI report, she said 99% sure it's endometriosis.
I've just booked an appointment for Monday. I wanna talk to her. It will cost me £ 180 :(, but maybe she can explain it in more details why I shouldn't worry about cancer.
If she can't give me proper explanation I will ask for the laparoscopy, then will see.
I agree with Niki. My uncle died from bowel cancer when he was young. Slipping that point into conversation got Drs to act quite fast. Endo can cause CA125 to rise! Good luck
Progesterone spread mine. Combined flaired it up and zoladex did nothing! Ive had mine confirmed by surgery and had complex surgery and its back. So not always. Just because it doesnt respond, doesnt mean its cancer and visa versa. No one will blame you with your family history, playing on it to get pushed up the line. You need checking. Get it mentioned.
