Endometriosis Specialists/Surgens NHS?

Hi All,

I am relatively new to this community, I had discovered I have potential Endometriosis since September.

I had paid to see a specialist for MRI which came back showing no endo and could not afford the laparoscopy through him to confirm.

Can anyone recommend an Endo Specialist/Surgeon that also consults for the NHS? That does excision surgery and not ablation.

I am seeing a gynaecologist at the end of the month but feel my case is complex do to nature of pain and lack of visibility through MRI and Ultrasound.

Thank you to anyone who can help :)

Hi - which city do you live in?

You could see if you can get a referral for BSGE.

Hi there, thank you for your reply! Yes that would have been helpful, I live in London.

What is the BSGE?

I don’t live in London so can’t recommend anyone sorry.

They’re specialist endometriosis centres

Hi Circe3

First of all, a really warm welcome to the forum! For legal reasons, Endometriosis UK is unable to recommend a particular doctor or hospital. For a variety of reasons, not all gynaecologists will have a particular interest in endometriosis. In the first instance, you could ask your GP if they know which local gynaecologists are interested in endometriosis or pelvic pain. We also recommend visiting the BSGE website (bsge.org.uk) and viewing their list of accredited endometriosis centres.

Wishing you all the best x

Hi Dee,

Thank you for the information, of course I understand this could have legality issues.

The GP's I have seen are sadly not very clued up on anything to do with Endometriosis, so I think I will be asking the gynaecologist if they are interested in referring me to a specialist.

I will certainly go onto the BSGE, thats very helpful thank you!
