I was admitted into hospital 3 weeks ago as I had awful lower abdominal pain and they thought it could be appendicitis after tests and scans I had the all clear with that but they found an ovarian cyst. I have suffered from endometriosis and 3 years ago had a lap and they said they had sorted this and I had a mirena coil fitted. As the pain was unbearable they gave me an appointment with a gynaecologist a week later and he fitted me in for another lap the following week (Tuesday just gone) they took out the cyst but said they found endometriosis again. As far as I'm aware they did not do anything with this as it was a diagnostic lap and the nurse did not give me much information.Since I've been resting and the pain has calmed although I'm taking a lot of painkillers. I feel physically and emotionally drained! It's bad enough pushing myself to get out of bed and move to the sofa! I'm due back to work tomorrow but right now I can't think of anything worse. I feel like taking time off because I'm drained and tired is just not a good enough excuse....
Has anyone else felt like this after a lap? Any advise or help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance

I'm over a week post lap and I still feel like I can't do much more than lay around the house. I would take more time off if possible. Your health is important, so take care of yourself! Listen to your body. Don't push it. Maybe play it up a bit with your work so they don't pester with questions. You just had surgery after all!! I was told the minimum recovery was 2 weeks. So take your time if you can.
Its very normal. I was off 5 weeks after my diagnostic lap and cyst removal and struggled for a good while after thay. I suffered severe post op fatigue. If you have Endo your immune system is battling so you are fatigued to start with then on top your body has to heal internally from being injured and ragged around which despite the small incisions can take up to 12 weeks. Anaesthesia can also contribute to fatigue.
This explains the healing process and variables in recovery times
