Hi, can anybody help me ? I am so upset. Yesterday I went in for a diognostic laparoscopy after being diagnosed 6 mths earlier with a large hemmoragic cyst and another, both on right ovary. I have been getting continuous pain for mths with 2 severe attacks and pain to left side. I look like im about 4 mths pregnant sometimes, feel bloated, get nausia, sometimes lightheadedness, lower back pain, pains in top of legs, pelvic pain and pains in side and groin. I was told yesterday by a nurse who discharged me that everything is absolutely normal and there is no reason for my pain and it probably isnt gynae related. I assured her the pain is gynae related and I know something is wrong. She did not know my history of pcos, the diagnosis of my cysts and when I asked about the myrena I had in she wasnt sure what I was talking about and said doctor must have operated while it was in. I asked her can he do this or does it need to be removed and she said no, its fine it doesnt need to be removed. Is this true ? She told me I will see dr in 6 weeks time. I am in agony and was sent home with no pain relief. 😟

Mirena still left in during op & no diagnosis ?
Hi, sorry to hear you've had such horrible time. Because the Mirena is in the uterus I don't think there's any problem leaving it there during a laparoscopy. During the lap they look around the outside, not the inside.
Were you seen at one of the BSGE centres? If not, I suggest asking for a referral to one.
Good luck
Hi,
Awww, Thankyou for your reply, feel a little better knowing mirena is probably ok in during op. It was at a hospital. If these problems continue I think I will get a second opinion, every woman knows her body doesnt she ? Ive had a laparoscopy before as my right ovary was stuck on the wall of my uterus. I recovered quite well & cannot remember being so sore & in this much pain. The nausia is terrible. I am so upset they have not found anything & feel like I have gone through all this for nothing. 😞x
I don't think that is one of the listed specialist centres. You can look them up here
I believe it's not uncommon for a general gynae to miss endo, so seeing a specialist would be the next step.
I hope the nausea passes soon!
