Thrush and pelvic pain

Hi ladies,

Ok so this whole thrush thing is ridiculous!! Literally finished antibiotics a week ago and it's back 😢 Now along with the same pains I was experiencing before prostap.

I've been pain free for 2.5 months so is the prostap wearing off as only 3 month injection??

Any help or advice you'd be great

Thanks x

Hey firstly sorry but i'm not too sure about prostrap, however i did go through a period of about a year or more of really severe and reoccurring thrush! it really was awful and they told me a variety of things including perhaps i am allergic to sperm! if i remember rightly i was put on a 6 month course of the oral tablet to treat thrush, possibly a higher mg dosage but can't remember? i think i took 2 for the first couple/few weeks and then one either every day or every week (sorry crap memory!) but it was something like that and definitely for 6 months, and it did really help and i havent really had it since maybe the odd minor bit but nothing bad and not anything like it used to be! so may be worth suggesting to your gp if you keep getting it all the time for a large course of tablets? Hope you get sorted!

Thank you.

Sounds like you've had a tough time of it all too!!

I've been to the doctor today and she said it seems as though the reoccurrence of the thrush is down to the prostap leaving my body and have hormone imbalance. I've been given pessaries to get rid of this episode and another 2 weeks course to prevent !!

Fingers crossed they work. She is also contacting my consultant as my endo pain is back , so need to discuss next step.

Thanks for your help x

Hi, I had recurring thrush for a decade or more. Tried everything but it always came back. It finally went away after I had the Mirena coil. An unexpected side effect!

My own deduction is that I'm oestrogen dominant, which is probably responsible for both my endo and the thrush. Once I topped up in progesterone both improved.

I wonder if something similar is going on for you?

Hope the pain settles soon.

Yes, it was maddening. The only way to control it was being on the candida diet. But that's very restrictive. Every time I came off it, the thrush was back.

Try probiotics with strains that stay alive when they get to vagina. I used to get it all the time and the probiotics have helped I also take serrapeptase to help with endo and clean blood and maca to balance hormones. They all have helped loads with pain thrush and fatigue. Don't take no pain relief any more. Rarely on my period nothing as strong as before.

Hope you get some relief soon.

Xx
