Hi, I am new on here. I have Interstitial cystitis and my GP thinks I may have endometriosis as well. My problem is that I had a colostomy bag and have had in the region on 50 operations on my bladder, bowels and ovaries and they say there is far too much scar tissue to do a laparoscopy. I have been seeing a gynaecologist about the painful ovarian cysts I have been getting. She had wanted to remove my ovary due to the cysts I continuously get, but said what would normally be relatively straight forward procedure, with me it would take about 5 hours and they would need to have 3 surgeons involved. There is a really high risk that I would end up with a colostomy bag again and after having it reversed 2 years ago I really don't want it back. Can anyone give me any advice on how else I can determine if I have endometriosis or if there is anyone on here with IC as well as endometriosis. The last 4 periods I have had I have been so sick for the first few days. Does anyone else experience this? I had to go to hospital last night to get an anti sick jag as I couldn't stop vomiting. This is a new thing but not sure why it has started. I work for myself and run 2 very busy businesses and I am really struggling to keep doing everything. Any help or advice would be appreciated. If it help I currently take Oxycontin for my chronic bladder pain but would love to come off this as well.

Interstitial Cystitis and Endometriosis
Hi I'm new here too. I have endometriosis and IC. I had an ovary removed around 4 years ago and it was converted from keyhole surgery to open surgery due to the severity of the endometriosis. I've been bad again for some time and ended up in A&E a couple of wks ago after a particularly bad attack. I've got a 5cm cyst on my right ovary and extensive lesions etc but as I'm 50 I've gone back on the zoladex as I'm nearly hitting the menopause. Don't like the idea of the cyst remaining but I can discuss further with my consultant in 3 mths. I'm postponing surgery for now. I must admit the zoladex has kicked in right away. My IC has improved too as this was making my life a misery. That pressure on my bladder is incessant but it has eased off a lot. I only get mild hot flushes on the zoladex and I have a lot of bone pain due to another condition I have called hypoparathyroidism anyway so I don't notice too much additional pain on the zoladex. I would recommend the zoladex for relief from both conditions.Haas your gp referred you for a scan to see if you have the endometriosis?
