First gyiene appointment

Just need to let my anger out. Doc sent me gyiene as he thinks I have endo!! Had first appointment today - left his room in years!!! He would not listen as my scan results came back clear!!! He said it's colon problems but my stools etc are fine!!! So mad coz he said my back ache and periods are nothing to do with it

Are you in the U.K.? Or somewhere else, I'm from Canada.

Some gynaes are like that but don't worry most scans don't show endo, do some research to find a gyno in your area who has good reviews. [edited to comply with our code of conduct]

Hi please don't give up. It's your body and your health and if you know something isn't right then fight till you get answers. Tell GP you want a referral to a BSGE centre. These are specialist endo centres. Most general gynaecologists just haven't got a clue when it comes to endo.

Endo will only normally show up on scans if it is deep. And even then it depends on the skill of the sonographer.

Stay strong and never give up. You are stronger than you think.

Thank you. Just he didn't want to listen. He did a examination and said it's hormones!!! He says where I'm saying the pain is, is two high up.

Aww bless you :( I know exactly how you feel, I was once taken into hospital by ambulance as I collapsed with the pain and the dr told me that I will suffer with this all my life and there's nothing they can do about it, this is after being treated awfully about being there, was so upset, also when I got there the paramedic was talking to the sister and because I was sick from the pain (as we all know it can do) she just looked at me and said I probably pulled a stomach muscle from being sick..I was not happy! You know yourself when something is wrong with your body! I had been going to my doctors since the age of 12 with severe pains which they fobbed off as a normal period and IBS and I didn't get taken seriously until 20 when my surgery got a new doctor who forwarded me on to gynae.

My scan was completely clear also however yesterday I had my first lap & i do have quite extensive endo which has built up over the years & is in fact the reason I suffer with severe IBS

Please don't give up doll, just go to a different doctor or request a different consultant because you know it isn't a colon issue and no one knows your body better than yourself!

Stay strong ❤️

It makes me so angry when I hear of women complaining about the way their doctors have treated them and not listened. Even if they don't think the pain is gynae related there are better ways to discuss possible future courses of action. I have had a bad week doctor wise and I know I am not alone in coming out of an appointment feeling like I have not been listened to and able to communicate the symptoms effectively because of the way the doctor reacts.
