Total hysterectomy in 2 weeks time..

Hi, i'm 29 and having a total hysterectomy in 2 weeks due to endo. I've had 3 zoladex injections in the last 3 months, but haven't stopped bleeding for 6 weeks now barring about 2 days that it stopped then came back full force!!!! I'm drained, have 2 young kids and also dealing with the rubbish side effects from the zoladex mostly the anger?! Shall i mention this bleeding to someone?? Or just accept this is it now until the op. The only thing zoladex has done for me is lower the pain slightly... 😢

I would mention bleeding as seems zoladex not quite right for you. Are you add back HRt? You'll need hrt after hyster for sure. You seem very young for a hysterectomy especially as it's not a treatment for endo. I had mine at 42 and still struggling with endo - pain and tiredness. Make sure you have all endo excised at time of hyster and get a combined hrt to give you most chance of endo not causing you any more problems.

I do hope you are with a bsge clinic but fear you may not be as they would be unlikely to recommend hyster on one so young as they don't see it as treatment for endo

Hi, yes i'm with a bsge clinic. I've been allowed the hysterectomy as i've had 2 children and my partner has had a vasectomy as we had decided we did not want any more children. I've followed my mums footsteps but much younger, she was 39 when she had her hysterectomy.

Yes i am on HRT, it started with my 3rd injection and will continue after the op.

It's not only for the endo, my ovaries are damaged too so instead of a laparoscopy every 18 months i agreed to a total hysterectomy.

Sounds like your definitely in the right place. I didn't know about bsge clinics before my hyster and whilst I still would have ended up needing it at least they should have got rid of the endo too.

I'd still check out the bleeding with your GP but am sure it's fine and as you say they'll probably say it will be like that until op. Hope it all goes well and take a look on hysterectomy associations website for loads of useful info.
