Hello just after some support
So I'm suffering with endemetreosis and I'm currently on a waiting list for surgery.
I'm really struggling with work at the minute, I am attending days I can but my works are becoming a little bit funny about it. I know endemetreosis is actually common but still not many understand it. Any advice please?
You are right about that, that's for sure..people do not understand endometriosis unless they are suffering from it. I never talked about it because of the comments I would always hear. Also going to drs and hospitals for over 10 years (before I was diagnosed--diagnosed at 25)and being told I had a "bad period ". I'd just go home and cry not knowing what to do..and thinking this was just normal. After I had the surgery ,I needed help with driving and picking my children up from school. My mom had told a couple friends at my kids school that asked if I was ok. So after everyone knew I had it people made comments still knowing I had it that it is "manageable " and I'd be fine...umm ok..hasn't been any better since I've had the surgery and that was almost 2 years ago. It feels like it has come back 10 fold. I'm looking into finding a specialist. I can't go on this way. It effect my everyday life and controls every part of it.

Do not worry at all - I hadn't actually ever heard of endometriosis until after I had some found/removed during a routine laparoscopy for a cyst removal!
I was diagnosed at 20 and had my operation 18 months ago. I won't lie...it's not easy and it will take some time to find the best pain and contraceptive medication that works right for you!
But I found my laparoscopy took a lot of pain away for 6-8 months. Since then I am still trying to work out a suitable contraceptive option for me! But I have been able to manage my pain relatively well.
Pain is different with everyone but I found that keeping active (just simple walks) really helped me ever when I was in agony. Hot water bottles have been my life saver - seems to be the one thing guaranteed to take my pain away short term.
I had to recently give up my job due to the pain it was causing because of endo. Which was devastating...but my health was my priority!
Hopefully your operation will help you and will relieve the pain dramatically for you 
Sometimes I can't get out of bed nevermind walk haha. I don't want to quit my job because I really do love it and I don't want endo to win! My heat bags my life saver at the minute. I've had laparoscopys because I get a lot of adhesions. I'm on prostap at the minute but am having my ovary removed

Do hope the op comes soon for you and the pain that no one else can feel apart from you eases. You are unlucky that your company is not being sympathetic. If things get serious at work suggest you get your GP to write a letter better still contact Endo UK they will be able to help you.

Its a tough disease alright. Do you know what extent you have it and what type of surgery you are having?
I couldn't tell you no. I've suffered for a few years now and always been told I just have 'bad periods'. I've had laparoscopies recently a couple just showed adhesions and then my last one diagnosed endometriosis. I'm currently on prostap treatment, I'll be having my ovary removed in the next operation
