Today has been a crappy day... I'm starting to wonder if there is endo involvement in my bowels; whenever I open my bowels it's not easy to go and it then seems to flare up horrible cramping! Sorry for TMI but today I've felt like I'm about to have a really loose movement all day and then when I actually try to go it's more like I'm constipated.... finally at 10pm actually managed to open my bowels properly and now left with horrible pains again....
Would love some advice from someone that maybe knows... I'm currently awaiting referral to a BSGE centre.. think I was giving my lovely Gynae a headache.....
Thanks ladies xx

I have confirmed bowel endo and rectovaginal endo. I suffer terribly with constipation and now have to take lactulose every day, but even then it's hit and miss. I have a nodule the size of a golf ball pressing on my rectum which the doc says is the main cause of this. I pass mucus with and without stool and also sometimes pass blood. I have cramping and discomfort in the bowel pretty much every day. Sometimes I get really sharp, stabbing pains in my bum. I've tried all the diet things, gluten free, dairy free etc but my pain continued to worsen so I went back to a normal diet. Caffeine definitely makes it worse, and I try to eat as many high fibre foods as possible. Tried flaxseed, prune juice, figs etc but they're not enough without the lactulose (though ditching the prune juice was no great hardship TBH).
You poor thing! Will the nodule be removed, or have they treated the endo?
It's a comfort about diet, because I have tried in the past + it didn't make a difference, which is what makes me now think it might be endo to blame!
The caffeine tip is good though, will try and stick to my greens and up the fibre (with you on the prunes...! My mum kindly bought me a bag forgetting I don't exactly love them.... maybe they'd be bearable baked into a cake ) my GP gave me Laxido but some days that doesn't really help either!
I am now being seen at a bsge centre and have my first surgery with them next month and the plan is to remove it though they have said it will take a couple of surgeries due to the extent of the disease that I have.
I honestly tried really hard with diet because my GP insisted my problems were just IBS and I was GF and dairy free for almost a year. It didn't help. Over the course of that year my pain actually got worse :/
Aww, that's good.. all the best - I hope you get relief! It's such a nasty disease, but at least you will be in good hands for the surgery
People that don't understand are so willing to make suggestions and 'helpful' comments too! I wish more GP's were clued up on it! I got the old IBS one before I got referred 2 years ago too!!
Thanks for the article.. V interesting! Sent it to my fiancé as he wants to understand more
i totally understand this!! i get real bad gas pains too! esp around my period! i dont know what to advice you but peppermint tea helps with the pain xx
