I am new to all this and very confused! I am booked in for a laparoscopy in early October and I'm trying to get my head around everything!
Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experience to me?
For the last five years I've been in and out of hospital with gastro symptoms, like abdominal pain, vomiting, diahorreah but lately the pain has been on my right side.
I've had appendicitis ruled out three times!
Things do seem to get worse around my period, in the last six months I've had very large clots but otherwise my periods are light and short.
This new pain is constant and almost unbearable and seems to travel into my tigh.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Can't wait for laparoscopy so I can get answers and hopefully some relief!
Thanks in advance! X

It does sound familiar, leg pain is common with endo, and I also had light and short periods but some clotting,
My way if helping myself was to get as much information as possible, so if and when your diagnosed you can take in the details more, read a ladies posts on here her name is Lindle she if very informative,
Good luck with you laparoscopy, are they planning to excise any endo if found, ??
Hi Guppi from Nurse Gladys Emanuel (open all hours) as a retired theatre nurse in Gynae I can tell you a laparoscopy will let surgeon look all over you body and at all your organ except heart (because its protected by rib cage and not accessable with a scope) So they will look at womens bits" and bowel and appendix and liver area, if your problem is not gynae then usually these days the surgeon will ask a colleague from - say- gastroenterology to look whilst they have you asleep and to save another G.A and time, its not unusual to be asked to sign for a lap and +/- if they find something they can deal with at that time. It is very unfortunate that the way we girls are made our womens bits are so close to bowel bits its hard to know what is causing pain without having a look.. I am sure this procedure will sort you out..
