Laparoscopy time

Well it's arrived. The day I'm having my first laparoscopy. I'm very nervous, more so because I'm convinced il wake up and they won't have found anything and il be back to square one. Does anyone have any advice for recovery afterwards?

All the best with the laparascopy. You will be fine and luckily those aneasthetics are strong. For recovery I recommend having a heated water bottle on hand and pain medication. You will be very bloated afterwards, but that is completely normal. Make sure to rest loads. I wish you all the best and quick recovery.

Thanks for your comments. I've just got home, I'm extremely sore and the shoulder/chest pain from the gas is horrendous. But I'm being very well looked after. This seems like a silly thing to say but I'm very happy with my diagnosis - endometriosis confirmed. Obviously I'm not happy I have it but after being in pain for so long and made to feel like I was making my symptoms up by some consultants I'm so relieved that I knew there was something wrong and I was right.

So, I'm back in 6 weeks to discuss some hormone therapy and I guess my journey into the horrible world of endo really begibs

Thanks to all on this site, I don't know anyone else who suffers from this condition so it's a comfort to have somewhere to turn
