Should I run my pill back to back

Considering endometriosis is based around periods would it be better and less damaging if I run my pill back to back for 2-3 months at a time ? I'm on micrigyne 30

Hi, if it works for you then you could consider doing this...

I did this to avoid bad periods but ended up with sore boobs, bad acne, probably a bit of moodiness thinking about it and a build up of general acheyness in that region.

I came off microgynon for three cycles, then went back on it and found it to not be very effective in suppressing the pain, so have changed to a progesterone only pill, as my pain was worst mid cycle & therefore related to estrogen.

May be worth consulting with your GP?

Been to my GP today sounds like they don't know much about endo and now referring me on to a gynea which I guess is a good thing. Just thinking as periods are the culprit here leaving blood behind causing scar tissue so what if I didn't have a period ? Would it cause less scarring in the long run ? Also my blood is mainly brown when I have my break. Is this normal ? I might get one day of it red but the rest brown. Sorry to much info lol x

Everyone's 'normal' is unique to them, it doesn't sound that unusual tbh.

There's no harm trying at least two packs back to back to see how you get on in my (non medical) opinion - the idea is that you can safely do that if you accidentally miss one pill, so why not do it even if you don't?

Hi. I back to backed the microgynon pill for years until my endo got worse recently. I used to do 3 packs at a time so only 4 periods a year. although my periods were still really painful I found it helped to have less of them. This was recommended to me by my gynae. I also bled mostly brown. Hope this helps. X

Personally I was on that exact pill for over a year and never came off it just ran back to back constantly! Didn't help my endo unfortunately but I didn't have any problems with taking the pill for so long other than the side effects which i got when I first started it!

Thanks guys. I have ran my pill back to back before 4 months last year I don't it. Then the pains get worse after so I stopped doing it. I might do it on my next cycle. I've started getting sanitary towels instead of tampons just trying anything lol
