Feel so ill :(

Today i feel dreadful, woke up with the worst headache ever that I haven't been able to get rid of. Also I have been backwards and forwards to the bathroom all day with diarhea. I'm starting to wonder if I have a stomach bug or does anyone else experience this with the endometriosis? I don't know if I'm just having an endo flare up or if it's a bug? Does anyone have any ideas? I'd appreciate any feedback, thanks in advance

  • Hi - I'm sorry you are feeling so bad but this is typical of stage 4 endo with bowel involvement. You will feel very pooly much of the time. Have you thought more about surgery as at your age it really is going to be inevitable and the sooner it is done the better. I'm not sure which endo centre you are under but the top ones will do the surgery you need all the time. Yes, there are risks but there are risks with any surgery and the complication rates are low with the best surgeons. It is worth giving careful consideration to which centre you have your surgery in. Have a look at my post on how to find a specialist.

  • Hi, thanks for your reply! I really appreciate that! The past few days I have really been thinking about the surgery option again and i think I will have to go ahead and get it done soon. I can't bare how ill I feel and how often. I have a bit of a dilemma as I am in a professional touring band and we have tours booked in the US for the summer which I can't afford to drop out of but on the other hand if I don't have my health then I worry I won't be well enough to do the shows. I guess I worry that if I go ahead with surgery and it makes me worse in some way that I won't be able to carry on with my Career in music which is everything to me. i will check out your post on how to find a specialist! Thanks for your advise!

  • Where in the UK are you? You must be operated on by a highly skilled specialist in a centre and the whole process from referral to surgery may be up to 9 - 12 months. If you plan it right and get referral soon you could probably have the initial consultation and any scans such as an MRI before your tour with surgery after. Are you on any hormone medication at the moment to try and control it?

  • I'm in Dorset near Bournemouh. I recently saw an endo specialist in Poole hospital. He was nice and seemed to know his stuff but it's hard to know for sure I guess. Currently I am on no hormone treatment as I have a bad reaction to both the pill and prostap injection. I am meant to be trying a different pill next period but I don't have much hope that it will agree with me as I've tried about 5 different ones with no luck. I feel like the only option I have is surgery. Right now I'm trying the endo diet, hopefully that will give me some relief!

  • So pleased you have posted this. I've felt like this for over a week now and have finally given in and gone back to bed. I feel your pain. I hope you start feeling better soon!
