Hiya,

I went for my 3 month follow up today following a laparoscopy in October to remove endo from my bowel, bladder, pouch of douglas, ligaments and ovaries. I had four courses of antibiotics a few weeks after the operation due to an infection in the belly button site. However, since getting over the infectionsy endo pain hasn't alleviated at all.

When I explained this to the doctor today she couldn't tell me why. She said that endometriosis is a strange disease and that perhaps I have a gastrointestinal problem. I know that it isn't a problem with my belly as the pain is exactly the same as before.

I asked for her suggestions and all she could say was to go back on Cerelle that I never got on with or a full hysterectomy and removal of the ovaries. She didn't recommend that as I'm only 32.

She said that as the cutting away of the endo hadn't worked she wasn't sure that a hysterectomy would anyway...

Has anyone else still had the pain following a laparoscopy and what did you do?

Sorry for the long message but I feel.so.disappointed and that I'm just going to be like this forever.

Any advice is appreciated....

Thanks xx

Hi Linda,

Yeah the surgery was carried out in a specialist centre in South Wales. I'm a diabetic too so I don't know if that might delay my healing x

Oh I'm sorry to hear that....but it makes me feel like I'm not going mad! It's just not fair is it?

Did the hospital suggest anything for you x

Yeah, for a while now I feel like I've been going mad... because I've been told that it's impossible to feel this pain this soon, but I guess we're the ones that know our bodies!

And no unfortunately they didn't.. they sent me off assuming I was fixed! xx

It's so frustrating...I don't know where to go from here. I suppose it's just grit our teeth and bear it.

Have you tried the endo diet or any natural remedies? I didn't think I'd need to after the op but maybe that's worth a go xx
