How long to wait for hysterectomy

Hi, has anyone had to have a full hysterectomy and bowel resection because of endometriosis? I am booked in for this and have my pre op booked for 15th Feb the hospital said they cannot tell me the actual op date as its a joint one with gyne/bowel surgeon. Any idea how long on nhs I'm likely to wait after pre op?

Hi Hun I am due to go in for total hysterectomy around April, it would have been 7 months since being told I could have one. Currently the hospital I am going to has a bed crisis but your hospital could be different usual time scale is within 12 weeks of your pre op hope that helps x

Hi Hun have you tried phoning them and asking if they can give you a rough idea so you can make arrangements. I was initially told January but when I hadn't heard anything by December I phoned admissions and they were able to give me a date. Best wishes Jean

I too am having total hysterectomy with possible bowel resection with ureter stunting I was told in September 2015 but because they have to coordinate the surgery date with the colorectal surgeon I am having to wait until March this year. Normally they would not have done the pre op assessment until 2 weeks before surgery do you have the number to the hospital admissions team? It might be worth calling them and ask when your surgery might be if t you are already booked pre op in Feb. good luck!
