Haematoma following surgery

Hey,

I had my laproscopy almost 3 weeks ago now, went back to my gp on Monday this week due to hard swelling in my lower right hand side of my tummy to which he said was a haematoma and to go back in two weeks if this hasn't gone. Just wondering is this normal procedure and has anyone found anything useful to help relieve this?

Thanks :)

Hi Sam2015,

I had a very big haematoma after having my appendix out in October. It was very painful but was gone after about 4 weeks. My doctor told me it could take anything up to 6 months to go so I was happy with 4 weeks.

If it is very painful they can do stuff to help, but trust me, it will go!

Arnica cream or gel may help. Just check to label for contraindications
