Dressings

Arghh just panicking a little, I had my lap on Monday and I removed the dressings one on Tuesday night and one yesterday is this too soon!!?? I'm sure the nurse said the day after and I would be able to shower too. Just seen something on Instagram saying don't removed until ten days due too infection 😳😔

I was told to remove mine after 24 hours. I got in the bath and removed them after 24 hours and the incisions were fine.

I found the incisions hurt when I wore anything tight like jeans so I redressed them myself just to go out on a few occasions.

I took my dressings off after 24 hours too, the nurse advised me to do this. I did get a minor infection in one of my wounds but this was several weeks after x

I took them off after 48 hours and replaced them. The next time I left them off while I had a soak in the bath, then dressed them for a third time. Each time I left them on for two or three days and once the dressings from the hospital were gone I left them exposed. I wouldn't worry if I was you, as long as you feel comfortable and they're not rubbing on your clothes x

I think a lot of it depends on the dressing type they used. If it's not bleeding it should be fine, but if it's sore and you're worried, a visit to the doctor may be in order. Better safe than sorry.

I was told to wait ten days before removing completely and in the meantime to only have showers, replacing the dressing as necessary. Mine were glued.
