Hi Ladies, I have my first lap on Monday(eek nervous!) and had my pre op today. I was suprised to learn there is no bowel prep. Just wondered did you have bowel prep for your lap?

Hi hun

I didn't for my first lap but I did for my second lap to remove Endo off my bowel. Are you having bowel symptoms/pain? If you are maybe ring up and ask if you can have some cos if they do find Endo on bowel they won't be able to touch it until you have the bowel prep which means another lap so best to get it done in one go if you can

Xx

I have been told I have possible rectovaginal endo, due to my symptoms so thought it was strange. What prep did you have? I wonder if they may do an enema on the day x

That does seem strange hun I would definitely ring them and double check it. Just ring the Secretary she will speak to your consultant and check.

I have moviprep yuk. I've got to have it again in a few weeks so they can fix my bowel and I'm dreading it. My friend had enema and said that was OK so maybe they are doing that for you.....Hopefully. Just check though. I work for nhs and some times things like that can be missed then it's to late and you don't want to have more surgery or for it to be cancelled on the day

I've recently had surgery and had bowel endo symptoms but they still didn't want me to do anything. I was just abit panicked on the morning of the op as I couldn't go, always suffered with constipation and diahorrea, as far as I know (not had my post op check up yet) they didn't remove anything off my bowel just my uterus and left it on my bladder but I've found the bowel symptoms to have eased slightly after the lap.

I did but I had endo on my bowel so required to have some bowel removed.
