So after seeing my gyno the other week and explaining i felt that the zolodex injection wasnt making any difference with pain he ignored me and wanted to give me a 3month shot rather than a months. I didnt go to the appointment and just went to see the nurse to do the usual 1 shot. And oh dear lord it hurt. She looked very nervous. Put the needle in wrone. Very painful. Bloody appearinf. She runs off to get someone else. They blame my stomach for being slim and grab as much skin as they can in a lump and inject me causing alot of pain. 13 hours later and im in alot of pain with it.
what is going on...ive not had this before.
no1 seems to listen anymore.

I'm sorry you're in such pain. I too had a horrendous time with my Endo. I had the Zolodex shots in my belly six months on the trot. Yes they did hurt but the actual injection site cleared up in a day or two each time. The problem that I had the shots for didn't go away though. The pain from the Endo was so bad it used to put me in hospital at the beginning of every other cycle. My consultant didn't listen to me either and she decided I should have a partial hysterectomy but keep my ovaries. I told her I thought it was the hormone boost that was doing it but she went ahead and removed my womb anyway. I was right though and had to later have each of my ovaries out. All by the age of 40. Needless to say, I changed consultants after that.
My advice is alway listen to your body. I hope you get some help/results soon.
Hi I had a lot of problems with the monthly shots in stomach.
I was put on a three monthly shot that can be done in my arm, I have now been on it for over two years and it is much easier to cope with.
The nurse even taught my husband to do the shots so I do not have to go to the surgery every 3 months and wait for hours because the nurse is running late.
It has not stopped all endo pain but it does mean I do not end up in bed for 3-4 days every month because of the Injections.
It didnt make any difference the later part of the 6m for me, I was given the 3m one and for me the side effects was worse - my endo specialist wrote to gp saying he should not of done it as the 3m one is not licenced for women / there is an alternative if its 3m but not zoledex. Now everything removed/full hysterectomy adominally with complications good luck at 40 xx
If the pain is more than you'd expect from a badly done injection (bruising and a little tenderness) call a doctor, there is a chance if the nurse has put it in wrong on the first try that she has pieced something she couldn't.
When I was on Zoladex the nurse said she couldn't find any fat to put in in but I never had any problem with pain. Also, someone suggesting you have a 3 month one when the 1 month one isn't helping doesn't make sense. Surely, if something isn't working you'd try it another month or two, but not commit to 3 months. It seems most gynaes havn't a clue about endometriosis, I suggest you try and get to see a specialist.
Hi. That word Zoldax brings back memories of when I myself was treated for uterine fibroids.
I was 23 at the time and now I am 38.
After my second injection I felt a significant drop in my libido, I did not feel aroused and stopped having orgasm. I went to my Gynocologist several times about the problem but he assured me this was temporary but unfortunately
this problem did not resolve.
As you can imagine I was devestated, I went to my G.P almost every month with the same complaints and was referred to many places including psycho sexual counselling.
Nothing helped and in the end me and my GP fell out.
Today I still suffer the same issues and because of this I have been single for the best part of my 20s and 30s.
I am now seeking a private doctor and I hope to once and for all get my sex life back.
I also forgot to mention that I took my Gynocologist to a tribunal.
So please ladies.. Be aware of the side effects before receiving treatment.
The three month depot of endo is unbearable. I had it in April and I'm still going through the menopausal symptom. IM so scared I'm not menstruating that I wish I hadn't gone for it in the first place. I don't know why my gyenea propose that. But girl, seek an immediate specialist advice. All the best . xoxo
I will be making an appointment with my go first thing. Because i hadnt had pain for a couple of weeks i thought things were looking better but obviously notm i shall ask to be refered to a specialist x
Following this post after receiving my first Zoladex injection yesterday.
Consultant didn't give me chance to think about it, it was for the best to determine if what I have is endo and before having a lap... looking for all info and advice on this.
Having zoladex injections was the worst decision i ever did. Im aware everyone reacts to everything differently but i felt like not only did it not help but it completely changed me, more hormonal and irritable, along with hot flushes, headaches & bowel problems. I've just finished my 6 months of injections and now starting to feel normal again. I decided to go private as I had enough of NHS messing me about (27 week waiting list) BEST decision ever. Scheduled for a laparoscopy, bowel & kidney investigations and hormones investigation. The consultation did cost me £150 but for any one in severe pain everyday like me I believe its worth every penny. The injection itself hurt me for a couple of days but wore off after about 2-4 days. Hope you get better soon xx
Was it 27week wait with the nhs? Have you had to pay for the lap as well? I am looking into going private. I finally have a morning off tmoro so i am going to do my research and get the ball rolling as i csnt continue with the infection. It stops my periods but similar to you im not myself at all. At 25 i shouldnt be feeling like this.
