Mefenamic acid and Omeprazole

I've been prescribed mefenamic acid for pain relief and also omeprazole. Does anyone else take these? I'm not sure what the omeprazole is for?

The ompeprazole is to settle ur stomach I take it with diflofenac for endo pain.

Omeprazole (Prilosec, Zegerid) belongs to group of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. It decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

Omeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid. It is also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid). XXXX

I found neither helpful...the omeprazole helps with acid from your tummy because painkillers often mean your stomach produces too much acid. However my sister found both helpful.

Omeprazole needs to be taken to protect your stomach lining from pain killers.

Make sure you take it as,I made this mistake. Took acid tabs and needed ambulance as in that much stomach pain from acid.

still on them now as completely ruined stomach and takes so long heal.

Basically took ibuprofen on period and destroyed stomach because didn't take omeprazole.

Menfonic acid will work same as ibuprofen, so need be taken together,
