Zoladex Flare

I've had one Zoladex , wasn't explained to me at all at the time, I don't want another, but I'm having the flare up at the moment... Bleeding, nausea, shivers, etc. if I don't. Have the next one , due in 10 days, how long will the flare symptoms take to go? When will my natural hormones kick back in? Any help appreciated!

Hi hun

So sorry to hear about your experience hun.

I had one zoladex injection and had a massive reaction I swelled up really bad. Along with my bone aching so bad, migraines, nausea, shivers, bleeding, hot flushes, skin sensitivity a rash.

The Dr said she had never seen such a reaction, I had to have medication to try to reduce the swelling in my body, they agreed it was unsafe for to have my second one.

I'm six weeks on when I was due my second injection and I'm still experiencing most of the side effects😣 the bleeding stopped after about 4 weeks and I still haven't had a period yet, the Dr said I will when the zoladex was completely out my system and I still don't feel like it's out of my body.

I can honestly say that it was one of the worst experience's of my life and I can't wait for this drug to be out of my system. I never got any relief from the pain with this zoladex injection but I do also have adenomyosis so that may be why.

I hope things start to improve for you soon hun xx

Thanks so much. I don't have endo, this was to reduce heavy periods after ablation didn't really work. The doc didn't explain anything to me, I had no idea what he was putting in my body, plus no idea that the tabs he gave me were HRT! Feel violated and I've made a complaint against him. Like you, I feel like there's an own in my body that I can't control and I just want it gone! The heavy bleeding just ruined an expensive holiday 😖. Hope you feel better soon xx

Oh hun I really do know how you feel

I told the Dr I really wasn't keen on Zoladex and he pushed me to try even though they knew that I have had bad reaction to most of the hormone treatments I've ever had.

I would complain hun that really isn't right mot to explain the drugs and the side effects, I was told that I would probably just get one of them but no I got practically the whole list, I was so so cross because I didn't want the flipping thing in the first place and I've had to deal with all my normal crippling pain as well as load of crappy side effects I would never have that again ever

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that it ruined your holiday. We couldn't have a holiday this year because I have 3 children and I'm so drugged up on morphine there was just no point I wouldn't have been able to leave the chalet because of how bad my pain is.

I feel so sad and guilty we haven't been able to do much in the holidays.

Are you going to have your second injection? Xx

Thanks so much for your reply. No I won't have my second. I just don't want anything foreign in my body. I'd have to take the HRT to counteract and no way do I want that! Just feel out of control at the moment which I hate! I'd rather have s bad period for s week than feel permanently sick! I've put a formal complaint in to the hospital. He didn't even do it at the right time of the month, just so thoughtless!
